For a long time it has been said that structure ought to follow strategy. However, in a time, when many firms opt to reduce the layers of hierarchy, it becomes necessary to consider how changes in organizational structure affect the workforce. Prof. Reitzig and and our PhD student Kathrin Heiss have gathered some insights on this topic in "People Follow Structure: How Less Hierarchy Changes the Workforce".
