Abstract

Progresses in digitalization determine fundamental changes in university teaching concepts. This analysis is based on a survey among students of the Business Faculty at the University of Vienna in 2016 that reveal such requirements and demands. One possibility to satisfy students’ needs is the “Inverted Classroom Model” (ICM), a pedagogical concept combining individual preliminary (online) self-preparation and traditional attendance-based teaching, which was implemented prototypically in winter semester 2017/2018 in selected classes. While con ceiv ing concepts for these six lectures, the question arised, whether the offers were optimal, how they could be optimized, and which implications the participation had on students’ success.
